10 Things I Learned In My First Year As A Parent

My Top 10 Things

My son turns one year old this week and this has been the most incredible and life changing year of my life. I cannot believe how fast it went. Over this year I feel like I have grown so much as a person and have learned some important lessons. These are just 10 of the many many takeaways I have from this year.

  1. You have to let some things go/plans change.

  2. Mom guilt is a real thing.

  3. It is okay to ask for help.

  4. In order to be the best mom/wife I can be, I have to take time for me.

  5. Your relationship with your partner takes work.

  6. There are never enough hours in the day.

  7. Target runs will never be the same.

  8. This (parenting and bringing this tiny human into the world) is the most important job in the world.

  9. We are so blessed with our parents/families. Also, parenting never ends.

  10. It is possible to love someone so much that it hurts.

It has been so fun to sit down and reflect on these things. There are so many life lessons and memories to come in the future. I challenge you to write down 10 things you have learned your first year as a parent or 10 things you have learned this year. I would love for you to share them below. It is interesting to see different perspectives and learn from other peoples experiences.
